Although the King Quail is native to Aust, the one we keep in captivity was the Chinese subspecies imported here in the mid 1800's. They are also known as the Chinese Painted Quail. They're on this list of exotic birds of Aust, compiled by the Aust Government Department of the Environment and Heritage. So I guess it is legall to feed them to your herps.
