found this little hatchling in the backyard, just moved to the area far north nsw. anyone know what it is all my books are in storage, im thinking a whipsnake or brown tree???

Yes, it's undoubtedly a Keelback or Freshwater Snake (Tropidonophis mairii).
Are they cat hairs and puncture marks on it? If so, get it to a vet asap if it's not already dead, otherwise it will be soon, as cat bites are a death sentence if left untreated.
