Hi Guys,

I was messaging with someone off site and he mentioned to me that crushed walnut husks was not a good substrate - what are the views out there and what are the alternative both for the animal's well being and the visual appeal.

sounds a bit sharp. I use forest gold euclytus mulch, $7 /40kg at bunnings, looks great easy to spotclean. :D

welcome stencorp69

i went down to the creek and got creek gravel?? i sieved it to get all the small stuff out and i washed it well and then let it dry out.....is this ok??

I use the eucalyptus mulch too. The pythons seem to like to snuggle down in it, and it seems to absorb heat nicely. Cheap too.

i have family members keep there newspapers for me so i will have
anough to do all my cages. I have tryed all the different things over the
years and can say newspaper is by far the most effective way to clean up
and maintain hygenic. It might not look the most natural but is better than any natural substrate.
