A couple of other scenarios which i came up with. If people really beleive the progress we have made in the last 50 years is negative, they probably need to get their heads out of revelations.
Scenario :
Bert is an aboriginal and aproaches the voting booths on election day
1958 - Police tell him to bugger off as he is only an animal.
2008 - Bert is hounded by members of each party handing him pamphlets
Scenario :
Harry tells his family he is gay.
1958 - Harry's family disown him and he is beaten to death by the town thugs.
2008 - Harry's parents give him a hug and tell him that its ok, whilst adjusting to the change over the next few months.
