You should dust all of his food with calcium, and take him out into the sun as much as possible, do you have any pictures? If it is really bad i think you can get an injection from the vet, but I am uncertain.

Be great if you could answer the questions that have been asked already. The problem is almost certainly MBD.

Are you after answers or not? Please supply some more info and perhaps answer some of the questions that others have asked.

Freefly it is most likely suffering calcium deficiency. You need to get him to a vet and have him put on calcium supplement straight away. And to absorb the calcium he needs proper UVB, either via sunlight or lighting not less than 5%UVB, 10 or higher is best. They are expensive but it is crucial for bearded dragons to have them. UV light is ultraviolet. He can benefit an hour or more a day outside in the sunlight, and/or uv lights which can be purchased from any pet or reptile store. They should be on, in his enclosure for 8 to 10 hours a day. Ultraviolet light is important as it provides Vitamin D3 which is needed for the absorption of the calcium - just like us.

Here is a food chart for you to study, to ensure he is getting adequate nutrition. Check out the rest of the website, too. I have found it very informative. You should also invest in a calcium supplement for him. You can find a product called Reptical from pet shops as well. It is a powder that should be sprinkled over his food at least twice a week. Study the food chart well - dandelions are supposedly a source of calcium also. Other foods high in phosphorus such as bananas should be given only as treat because it binds the calcium and prevents their little body receiving adequate calcium.

Just a word regarding the UV. If you buy a light, make sure it is directly over the enclosure and that the beardy has branches to be able to sit about 6" below the light. Any further away he doesn't get enough, and don't shine the light through glass. Glass filters UV, making it totally useless of its objective.

I truely hope you are joking about the UV. Great info by Mysnakes! For the poor little beardies sake get him to a vet asap. If other reptiles are being kept by you please do some major research or give them to someone who can cater for their needs.

Freefly I urge you to study what was said above, instead of bumping. Take him to the vet and visit your local reptile pet shop and ask about UV lighting. They will show you what you need and how to set it up. I also urge you to buy a book on the care of bearded dragons, or read some caresheets on keeping them - it is obvious you didn't research before buying your dragon and the sooner you do so, the better (and longer) life your dragon will have.

Freefly, I sincerely hope your answers to the PM I sent you are a joke, otherwise its very disturbing. Did you research the beardies needs at all before purchasing? If you are being serious, my advice would be to pass your beardie on to someone who can and will take care of it, and is aware of its needs. It aint a dog mate, it has more specialised requirements.

I have posted the Q & A here so others can get the same shock I got as well:

Q: Does your beardie have a UV lamp?
A: What is a UV lamp?

Q: What feed are you feeding it?
A: (not answered)

Q: What temps are your enclosure (hot end and cool end).
A: The tank is what ever the air temp is

Q: What substrate (flooring) are you using?
A: I use dirt from outside

Q: How old is the beardy, and what type?
A: The beardy is about 3 and what do you mean by what type??

I'm not even going to answer your questions, as you need a lot more than a few posts and answers. I suggest you use the search function on this web site to do some research, some search subjects could include:

Bearded Dragon UV
Bearded Dragon Temps
Bearded Dragon substrate (or flooring)

Heres a few care sheets I found by googling:

http://www.wolfwoodwares.com.au/rept6.html
http://www.pkpets.com.au/pets/reptilebeardeddragon.htm
http://www.davidvella.com.au/BeardedDragon_dvella.pdf

There are a few good books around, and your local library may even have them.

If you are not willing, able or able to afford to give the sort of care required, you MUST pass your beardy on as I assure you it WILL die, if its not already too late.

this is really sad

if you care about your beardie amd want the best for it please pass it on to someone who can care for it!

Well, I'm thinking it could be a joke, but given some of the people around and some of the people that end up on here, it may well might not be. The mods can tell from the IP whether it matches another user, so if one of them can check, that would be good. I want to help this person with their beardy but not if its a wind up.

I have offered personal assistance if this person is in Sydney near me, if not, I will try and find someone else that might be. I guess we have to wait and see.

mate please seek help for the little fella:(, Im in cabolloture Queesland if your close by will help if I can.

wow thats is really messed up, well good work falconboy for at least helping him out a bit.
who ever this guy is his words that i will get banned for on here so lets all just hope its a joke
