Hi all, I am 10 years old. I got my best birthday present ever this year - a male spotted python. He is very friendly and we feed him every Sunday morning. I was wondering if I should have a UV light for him? If so, how long should it be on for each day? Does he need UV and heating? I want to make sure we are doing everything right!

UV is not needed, i would use a heat mat under 1/3 of the clikclak or how ever it is setup, i wouldnt use any other light source unless its in dark room and just follow the daylight pattern as coming into winter the day (light)hours getting shorter and as going into sumer the day (light) gets longer, keep warm end at 32 and cooler end around 27/8 so there is a thermal gradeint

how old is your spotted python?
