hi iv been thinking about getting a spotted python as my first snake. any suggestions on where I should get one from? are pet shops good to get them from? and what are the signs of a healthy looking snake? thanks. May all your reptiles be good ones, over and out.

i recommend buying one from a breeder as they will be able to tell you how many feeds its had and how many shed, whats its eating. and most breeders are happy to help you with care sheets, and will hand out their number so if you have any problems they can help you out or give advice.

recently on here someone was asking for help with a python they bought from a pet shop and they were not told what it was eating e.g rats, mice.

look for a python thats alert, has shed properly and is taking regular size appropriate feeds.
