:lol: dear god this site has just gotten worse. I guess the fact that my partner keeps elapids and we just had his old restricted permit renewed and QPWS issued it with the new classification on it just doesn't cut it for knowledge? :lol:

And from memory the old license was in fact called a Specialist Permit.

im sure it all changes all the time so depending on when you looked at all the regs last will alter your opinion.
it would be great if they could just make one structured licencing system for all states. i think there would be alot less arguments over who knows what . im still a newby and id b fd if i knew even 1/10 of the rules.

Renewal is different to gaining a new one. If u already have elapids it is much easier to keep them rather than just stepping out of the blue and saying you want them - you need to prove responsibility.

I suppose us just going through the process of getting our doesnt cut for knowledge.

Read the documents - that's the protocol we had to follow.

yeah he has a level 2 licence but once he got it he hasent realy followed the market. as to wether it goes up or down.

He probably hasn't followed the market for a long time. Our licencing system has changed, categories don't exist anymore except for basic and advanced licences so you should probably tell your mate to renew his licence before he sells the snakes or else its as good as selling them off licence if he is no longer on the record.
Ruby, no offence but you sound like you're unaware of these changes as well, you probably need to make sure you renew your licence as well.

Yes indeed it is different. Having also just had the experience of friends applying for their first license I know that the license name is the same for all. I also know that you only need to hold that license to issue a letter of recommendation for someone else. Not a "published herpetologist". I know because my partner (who to my knowledge hasn't had anything published since he added a quote to his high school yearbook) was one of the people ussing the letters. Jaysus girl, this isn't a competition. It's plain fact :lol:

no worries bud i just got my snake and im reading through the book at the moment. just got the licence a month ago and dont need to renew untill mid next year.
i do know he has renewed his licence.

im not haveing a crack at you but im sick of looking through this site and people begging each other when they done actualy know them you people should pull your head in ans stop fighting over whos SNAKE is bigger (pun hehehe)
some people on here i thing just serf the fourums so they can find an excuse to bag each other.
i just wanted to know what price red bell black snakes go for pecause my mate doesnt have a computer to serf the fourums and bag people.
now iv got two people fighting over the rules. 10 people could ready a rule in the rule book and all have a different interpretation of what it means!! get over it people, we all own snakes/lizards/what ever. enjoy them dont fight over who knows more because you all think you do so there is no use convincing each other

Yes indeed...well my apologies Ruby, I made the mistake of responding to a comment directed at me :lol: Umm with regards to your friend and his asking price I would suspect that like anything it's a case of the animal being worth whatever he can get for it. I've seen them for $20 a hatchy and I've seen them for $200....so who knows?

A pic might help people determine a price if you can get one, if it is a real stunner with very bright red it may fetch a higher price than a more faded looking snake.

yeah iv asked him to take a few pics on his phone and send them to me or i might go tomorrow with my camera. but as i said im not good with vens so they wont be close ups hehehe

i agree. if this site wasent so good for information and help i would of stoped coming here due to the arguments. but i have to say i have bad temper when i see people been bagged. i see it and think "theres no need for that" its just cyber bulling.
