One of my first to post an answer was

'First contact dr's and find what procedure should be followed.'

If you can move the patient easily to an area with lower ambient temperature it can be beneficial in many cases. By this I simply mean moving the person into the shade or something similar.

On do not try to catch or kill the snake while I fully agree. However I once was around when someone got bitten by a spider (A funnel web so a serious spider), going into the emergency section of the hospital the clerk acted completely non-seriously at the situation until some minutes later someone arrived and showed her the spider.

Only got one reply: Anyone who has done a first aid course should know this, and why I think it is such an important course. A pressure bandage over ENTIRE arm, dont move as that increases circulation of the blood and hence circulation of the blood, Emergency medical assitance try and tell them the type of snake as best you can.

1) ah, welll me personally id hyperventolate... you on the other hand, would probably just chil and take em to the dr... haha/.. you guys okay?/
2) Depends on the snake I guess. If it's not poisoness just asses the damage and and fix them up
3) I would yell out - "A Farkin Snake" "****" "Fark" etc
4) scream, then kill the snake. had this scenario once but with a pelican.
5) Did u see that bit on aca earlier, that dude that got his snakes to bite his daughter to prove a point? Pre sure It was aca..
6) As for getting bitten by a snake myself, or the kids... Depends on the snake lol if it's a pet and generally well handled, I would put it down to human error, surely something myself or the kids did wrong to cause it to need to defend itself... If a wild one.... Definite change of underwear :)
7) I think I'd call an ambulance, while I **** my pants trying to get a look at the damn snake (I am snakeaphobic). Would rather be safe than sorry and call an ambo unnessecarily. DH and I have discussed a lot of scenarios, such as what is the plan of action if an angry pig runs onto our property LOL

This comment was made to me on the weekend when I was asked by someone what to do if a snake bit someone, I started explaining what I knew, some complete random idiot budded in and said pressure bandages do nothing, he then told the person the stood no chance if they didn't follow his tequnique which was..... if the snake bit you on the finger, grab your pocket knife out and chop it off, I askee idiot what he would do then if it bit him on the ankle.. he said then you just cut a chunk out the bite area, he also mentioned their would be no need to go to hospital if you followed his advice. I did tell him that I hope he nver gets bitten.

WOW just wow hey. Did he tell you where he heard this pearler of a tactic or he just thougth long and hard about it and made the hypothesis all on his own?!?!

If u get bitten it simple, call for help , stay still, calm, and post on facebook about it jokes (;

ok so mine

Question i asked!
so tell me what would YOU do if you or someone you know was bitten by a venomous snake?
Responses1. Laugh
2.Make it a Kodak moment and take a photo.
3.tell them to get back to work...
4.as in at the time of the incident or afterwards in general conversation ?
5.as in what actions would you take to deal with the incident at the time it occurs
6.http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/8283542/handler-let-snake-bite-daughter-10Handler let snake bite daughter, 10 ‎^ is that what you are refering too
7.DR ABC. Danger, response, airway, breathing, circulation
8.scream ahhhhhhhhh!
9.I'd probably try to calm everyone involved down as step one, and then explain as clearly and calmly as possible what we needed to do from there because of the impending risks caused by the incident. From there you'd have to take 1st aid steps to limit the harm to the person and get them as quickly and safely as possible to professional medical care. Probaly imbolise the bite area and use some kind of pressure bandaging around the bite area to limit venom spread or something, **** pull up google on ya phone quickly while you try get a strecher or something fashioned from popsticks you found in the gutter. After that all fails, tell them to get a cab and best of luck 'cus their probably stuffed. Just head to the bar and start to talk about how nice a person they USED to be....haha

God I love FB! Nobody takes anything serious on there haha. Still you cant beat the pelican answer!! And I know the person who said get back to work!! How do you know my husbands boss?!?! Pfft lol

Im laughing so loud Im going to wake my son bwuhahaha This cracks me up! Thanks for helping!!

the guy sounds like if he thought too long or hard he'd have a brain aneurysm...

My daughter (16) asked the question. Here's the responses:

  • Do a poo
  • Call the poisons experts who's number is on the back of every hairspray can.
  • Tourniquet and rest, so the blood flow stops in the place you have been biten with the tourniquet and then rest so you slow down your heart rate.
  • Still forgot to call ambulance or something ._. that might extend your time but it won't save you cause it's still in your blood s
  • thought everyone knew the obvious...assumptions aren't very useful in life.
  • not everyone has common sense these days either lol
  • cut the circulation with a bandage/clothe then calm them down while calling an ambulance plus really depends which type of snake
  • probably just punch the snake venom out of them. :)
  • if it's a kingbrown break out the shovel and start digging their grave

  • LOOOL
Ha ha, the hairspray answer is a classic!
