Thanks all for your recomendations. Hix, I forgot Wildlife world is open late so we could fit it in on the Friday. Thanks!! We are staying in the City, so we might leave ARP for another visit and do Toronga. We need to be back in the City for a meeting on Sat night at 7.

Sydney Wildlife World has only Australian native reptiles.

Taronga and ARP have exotics as well as native.

So that could be a deciding factor.

The reptiles you will see at Sydney Wildlife World with awesome enclosures are

1. Kreffts turtles in the Butterfly enclosure
2. Morelia bredli
3. Morelia s. spilota
4. Morelia s. cheynei
5. Boyds Forest dragons
6. Shingle backs, western and central blue tongues
7. Scrub Pythons
8. Varanus tristis, Frill Necks, Hosmers skinks
8. Broadheaded snakes
9. Death Adders
10. Eastern Browns
11. Red bellies
12. Mulga snakes
13. Eastern Tiger snake
14. Inland Taipan
15. Red Barred Dragons
16. Central Netted dragons
17. Perenties
18. Eastern Beardies
19. Brown tree snakes - night tigers
20. Woma
21. Night skinks
22. Giant Cave gecko

may have missed some but those are all in the enclosures.

and maybe these depending what animals are rotated on the floor by education staff
BHP
Central Beardie
Carpet python
spotted python
northern blue tongue
eastern blue tongue
olive python

Generally best to go before 5pm as certain parts of the park close down at this time. Definately plan to be through the whole place before 4:45pm if you want to walk into the butterfly hothouse.

You can see that I spend way too much time there ;P

enjoy

Jonny

If you really want to spread yourself thin you could get the package deal for wildlife world and the aquarium, do wildlife world on the Friday night like you said then the aquarium AND featherdale on the Saturday!

with wildlife world they change some of the displays around so each time i go i see something different

I love the shows at ARP, but find Taronga a better day out. You have to catch the free flight bird show around 1 pm - great views of the harbour and not a bad bird show, either. I like the herps at the zoo, too, although it can be a little crowded as you shuffle past them. The komodos are awesome when they wander around.

I have been to all three in the last 6 months.

Toronga Zoo is Toronga Zoo. If reptiles are your thing, it is ok but not that big. Get to pat a Olive if you get there at the right time and now with the new Antartica exhibit it probably is not too bad.

Australia Reptile Park. The reptile and snake shows are good but are short. Likewise is Elvis (the lunatic croc) show. They are all good but there is not much in between. There are 1000's of snakes behind the scene but only a few locals and a couple of exotics are on display. I went away a bit disappointed only because I was expecting more. Good place to go if you want to pack a picnic. May even get a visit by a couple of corn snakes while waiting.

Sydney Wildlife World. I have to say I did not rate this place. A wildlife park in Darling Harbour. I was WRONG. The park design has been well thought out uses space well. Heaps of local snake exhibits. Happy to see many representing both python and venomous sides of Australian snakes. The insect exhibits are really good as is many of the other areas. If you look around there is a lot of discount vouchers (go to the INFO office at Darling Harbour first and get a free Sydney tourism book). The only catch is you are in Darling Harbour so obviously city visting comes with the usual costs for lunch etc.

In all I have to say as far as Reptile exhibits go, I was really happy with Sydney Wildlife World and have to say I will probably be back there again in the next 12 months. I am sure other people will disagree but that is my 2 cents worth.

Travel by taxi from Gosford Railway Station to The Australian Reptile Park. Obtain a receipt from the taxi driver to receive 25% discount off gate admission to the park. For further information on taxi services contact Central Coast Taxis on 131 008.
