I doubt it would have been the water, as you and any one else who drank it would be ill too.
I would like to bring up the comment on the soaking to help with the sedding - there have been comments saying its okay and the vet said to do it, but what I would like to know(as my boy with his last two sheds has had problems) is why use a product when soaking them in warm water or placing them in a wet pillow case then letting them slide through a towel works?
Also this could have been solved easy if the animal in question had been taken for an autopsy, which is now not possible - really everyone is clutching at straws cause we would not be able to know what caused it
