hey
so atm i have my water dragons on 24hr heat from a spot light
what im wondering is if it would be ok to turn this off at night so they get a night and day insted of 24 hr light
there would be no heating at night so im a little bit worried they may start to brumate due to the going from 24 hr heat to say 16 hr a day
i live in nsw in an area where ewd are wild so i have no problem as i know there health will not suffer from no heat at night
guess im just looking for other peoples ideas on this before i change anything
it would be on the same timer as my ackie which is 15hr on 9hrs off
thanks

I don't heat mine at night , my adult EWD never brumates even in the coldest part of winter, and my baby GWD's are growing a little slow but are healthy and active and have been all winter. I'm in Melbourne and it gets damn cold here.

we have heating off at night for all lizzards with no problems

I give mine a main basking heat 35-38 C for 8hrs a day, I have the main ledge/rock hide at about 20 C surface temp using a heat cord overnight. But thats for a pretty spoiled dragon. If you keep the heat up expect to have to pump food into them as they will digest their meals quicker.
They are getting a period of night (darkness) yes?
Does the enclosure have rocks that will absorb and hold some heat over night?

Yeh they have stuff that will hold heat during the night
Thanks guy
Pretty much answered all the questions i had!'
