Just wandering peoples thoughts on feeding fresh killed rodents rather than defrosted.
I'm aware that freezing is supposed to kill any nasties but is there any real risk with fresh killed?
(empty freezer, hungry snakes)

Hi mattG. It really would depend on where you are getting your rodents from. If you are breeding your own rodents or buying from a breeder that you can 100% trust, you can ensure that they are parasite free and that they have not recently had any flea treatment chemicals that could harm your snakes. If you are buying from a pet store there is really no way to tell (short of asking the staff and taking their word for it). Hope this helps.

BUMP. Does anyone have information regarding the freezing period required to kill harmfull parasites in rodents?
