Oh I thought it was a tail in a yellow bucket! As in the pupil was a spiny tail... I suck at this haha
 
Hahaha eipper got it. Half an eye is not really expected I guees. :p

Yeah you got the others to the right genus then missed the closing species eipper. :p

Scale arrangement, toe/digit number lack of eyelids are all good starting points..however if you spend your days in the scrub or in field guides it helps too

Ok then if it is not on a rock then I am still thinking Lucasium or Diplodactylus. Wish I knew more about scale arrangements on geckos I am sure there is a good characteristic in that pic I am not seeing. :p

Lucasium alboguttatum or L.maini?

And if its not a Diplodactylus or a Lucasium, I am going with Crenodactylus?
 
I think it is a pretty good character.....
