I see the name Antaresia maculosus and Liasis maculosus used for the same python, what's the difference?

Liasis is an older name that has since been replaced by Antaresia when the 'smaller Liasis' were reclassified.

Liasis Childreni no longer exists, due to revisionist work done by Arnold Kluge. Kluges careful scrunity and subsequent classification revision of reptiles has many laborioursly inking in new names in our field guides of several countries.
Childreni, has been divided into four new species, Antaresia maculosa, antaresia childreni, antaresia stimsoni and Antaresia perthensis.

(Bartlett and Wagner Pythons)

hope this explains it Eggy!!
