My avitar is of my Wife's tattoo. If you look at it closely the little gecko licks its eyes from time to time. This could be interpretted as a sexual suggestive gesture to other geckos.

Should I be changing my avitar?

(On the other hand it may not be a gesture at all but an attempt but the gecko to clean its eyes.)

These are the ones I can think of, I think people need to get a bit of self respect and respect for others, just because you do not take offence, this doesn't invalidate ours, why should us and ours kids be subject to something we do not want to be.

I didnt really like the avatars either, i was going to post something about this a while ago, but i refrained myself, so im glad someone else spoke up. After all, this is a herp site, the pics of girls kissing and boobs etc can be saved for posters on your bedroom walls etc. cant they?

The avatars didnt bother me much. Although I must say my daughter walked into the computer room one day and saw Dee's avy and her eyes nearly popped out of her head. So I do understand that people with kids in the house wouldnt like some of them.

It's only an avator, you see worse things on TV or in Target/K Mart cataloge or on a billboard. Even the adds on TV for that stupid "Home & Away" have had moresoft porn than this sites avators, and I bet your kids are allowed to watch it.

I think your being a bit silly. It's not like anyone has shown any real nakedness, if they did then I may agree after I had a laugh.

My 8 yr old Daughter saw Sherms avatar and said, "Look Dad, lesbians!" :shock: Any kid who can operate a computer has seen far worse than the little tit bits (hehe excuse the pun) people use as avatars on here. I can see in some circumstances how it can lead to an embarrasing situation, but really? Is it that bad? I miss Sherms bouncing bazookas! :lol: :lol:

If a parent wants to keep their children from viewing inappropriate material on the internet it is actually very easy to do. It is just a matter of wether or not the parents want to do it.

The reason I have never complained about avatars before is because I don't allow my children to come here, there is far more than avatars to worry about going on here, so I simply ignore stuff like that. I personally think this site has alot more to do to make itself "family friendly"...

My little girl walked to room when I was on APS and she had emotional shock after seeing Grebs green jely avatar. She is only 17 and totally pure girl.

But on serious mode, I am sure that moderators aproached people with homosexual and lesbian preferences and asked them to keep they avatars strictly hetrosexuall. Specially teamsherman dude. I can't figure this guy, but anything is possible in the army in this modern age. :lol:

I agree that some avatars are sily, but I don't loose sleep over it.
