It certainly is eggciting stuff!

nice one mate! What better way to spend saturday afternoon!

Let us know how she goes with the rest of them.

Cheers,
Dave

That's fantastic, you've gotta be one happy camper??

Very happy, especially since nothing bred for me last year. Had all the signs, basking belly up etc. but nothing came of it.

Now for worst part, incubation.

If and when they hatch I'll put what's for sale in the 'for sale' section.
Cheers,
Rob

I really hope the incubation period goes by without any problems, and that you have a clutch hatch rate of 100%. I hope you have better luck than some of us getting SA womas to sell, as they don't seem to generate interest when advertised (been there done that), but hopefully you'll move some on at least through this thread. All the best Rob.

Finally, after 67 days in the incubator they have started to hatch on Australia Day!

I have lost a few eggs along the way, some early and some later with no obvious reason. Just one of those things I guess.

Lessons learnt:
- 0.8:1 (water:vermiculite) may have been too wet, I'll be trying 0.6:1 next time as eggs were very swollen throughout the incubation period.
- Breeding Australian Pythons book reports a 50 day incubation period, not saying it's wrong but the shortest I have had confirmation of is 56 days, average 62 days and these buggers took 67 days.
- Pipping the eggs at day 56 and cutting windows at day 62 gave me peace of mind they were going ok as I could clearly see they were ok through the windows.

Some pics from my phone, will take better ones once they're all out.

Cheers,
Rob

Nice one mate! About time hey......will have to come and have a sticky beak when they are all hatched.

Cheers,
Dave

There is somewhere, I'll have to look around or take some more for you Scorps.

Have had a few queries about locality, to the best of my knowledge these guys are Moomba locale 100%.

Send me a pm when you have a pair ready as im pretty interested, just see what funds are available

Ben

All but 2 of the first clutch have shed already. Here's some pics to show what they're like....

Nice! Love the SA womas, is the sire of the clutch one of the grey or gold types? That last one looks pretty funky.
