Would not the fact that the breeders over there are working with a very small gene pool lead to mutations?
Kinda like Joughin?
Sorry buddy, just jokes is all.

just to add on a previous post about how the orange colour remains, I show you this pic of an albino red bellied black which I have posted on here before, the red seems to be as bright as a normal red belly
very nice

Hi Everyone,

Doug Taylor here. Kenshin posted my comments last night (Thanks Dude). Having read them this morning, well, maybe I'm coming down a bit harsh on the little guys. I don't think I'd call them "Freaking Ugly" the morning after (the usual time to find out something once thought nice is actually quite ugly). Since they are straight out of the egg, they are gonna look "wormy". Maybe in a year or two I could give them a different review.

So to Piet and Monika Nuyten, I appologize for shooting my mouth off about your animals.

I'm not really a fan of albinos in general. Here in The States we have access to all sorts of albinos and I've watched the storm of many species pass through the albinism rage in the pet trade. They appear, they cost a ton of money. After a few years of overbreeding people start to notice they don't look nicer than a normal animal so they become passe and not worth much.

Maybe the Albino BHP's will develop into something better looking than the oversized earthworms that albino Boa Constrictors and Ball Pythons are. Yuck.

As for the price tag on these animals... I think the prices we pay for some snakes here in the States is ridiculous. It works in my advantage as I produce and sell some of the ridiculously priced snakes, so I'm not complaining... just trying to understand.

Happy Herping,

Doug Taylor

I'd love some.
I think they have fantastic potential.
Imagine one bred to a "bumble bee" bhp .... white and yellow banding.
One bred to a B&W .... all white
One bred to "brain" .... well, use your imagination.

Hard to please some of you guys, reckon they look awsum as do albino darwins, the latino look is cool with the darwins and the yellow bands and white head on a bhp is magic. :p

The thing is it's not a competition between normal and albino, I would obviously have both but they are beautiful in their own right.

Howdy snake hunter, awesome snake there.
I think you'd better go see some sort of specialist about that left hand of yours though mate!
