A barcode tattooed onto the forehead would be a much more elegant solution....

It would save a lot of heartache as far as missing persons go. But how can you trust that info wont be abused? Tough one that.....

Are you serious!?
I much prefer the all the same clone variety and grow old in a plastic bubble fed from a tube and reality is a computer program myself.......actually I think Ive just described a fair few people who have choosen this reality already....:lol:

where will our privacy go? the government will know our everymove, coz so far mobile phones are trackable.
Hired hitman will find the way to their prey real quick with the latest technology.
When you are born, all your details will be on the chip, when you're sick, your details will be on the chip. When you go for job interviews, your personal details will be on the chip for employers ( sometimes isnt good, especially if you have personal illness which can tilt your chances for employment )
When you go shopping, just swipe the back of your palm onto the scanner if the chip is going to be implanted there, and you can pay by credits... no need for cash.
When you have a police record, and walk into a shopping center or movies or show which doesnt allow convicted law offenders from entering, the buzzer will beep and you cannot go in.
People will start killing other people for their chip to use it like a credit card. If they dont kill, just mutilate the other person and steal their chip.

and if you choose not to chip, you will be considered an outcast.

i reckon humans are slowly killing themselves.

Unfortunately, everything you have said is completely plausible!

I don't like the idea of it at all . but I don't think it'll change anything that much in terms of tracking someone , that's already easy to do , especially for a goverment agency. I also think that there will
always be a 'cash' world going on.

Then the retarded tv show "cheaters" will illegally track peoples gf/bf's and find out if there going to another persons house.. wow sounds great....

(for the people that havnt heard of that show.. someone asks the show to follow there boyfriend or girlfriend because they think there being cheated on, so pretty much the whole tv crew are Stalkers)

Everyones heard of cheaters and i never thought of them as a whole tv crew of Stalkers:lol:
but if they want to put a chip in me they have to do it for my pets first:lol:

I doubt these far-fetched ideas are actually going to happen................. dog's can't be tracked when chipped, a chip can only be read when scanned by a unique kind of scanner., so much so, that some places still can't identify chipped dogs because they don't have compatible equipment. The chips only identify name and date of registration with the dogs, and the owners details. They can only be scanned with specialist equipment, which I would think, be the same with the ones for humans too, as far as I'm concerned, it's a brilliant idea, would stop a lot of fraud and cheating with authorities, and would easily identify yourself at banks, with police, at Centrelink, or any official organisation that would require your details. It would save all this blinkin 100 points of ID, and just think, passports may become a thing of the past!!!!!!!!!!!

Naw, IMO, it's the alarmists that I consider would have the most to hide, and would be the more paranoid for the existence of something that would easily identify them for some reason.

We do it with our animals so they can be found, chips in humans could also help identify (and pardon the hypothetical here) the body of someone who is unidentifiable in anyother way. Identification would be MUCH faster, and far more accurate. Therefore, police wouldn't go knocking on the wrong door to tell the wrong family a loved one has perished in order to get an identification.

(Flame suit on)

so if i follow someone around with a camera and film there every move im not considered a stalker.. great...
it wouldnt bother me being microchipped as i have nothing to hide haha.....yet

It sure would be handy when it comes to finding a missing loved one, just think no more "Australia's most wanted"
I dont think i would mind being chipped

*stands behind Dipcdame*

I think it would be very effective... sure there would have to be lots of trials... however in this day and age it's quite easy to create tamper proof technology (sorry to those who are fantasising about fake identities by swapping their chips). Plus in terms of missing persons, the chips will probably be hooked up via satellite and scan for a heartbeat, and whenever the heart stops (i.e. in the event of murder) it will sent a direct alert to the appropriate persons... Which will create more jobs for the cops who are hired to rush to the scene when this alert is triggered... Like I said, there will have to be loads of trialling so we don't have alarm bells going off left, right, and centre...
