Okay, so where's MY apology...?

I did...! Openly, I hasten to add, at post #36!
"Okay, firstly, I apologise - I got part of my post incorrect.

Elaborating on this, bearded dragons do not have the biological capacity to absorb water through their skin/scales (frogs absorb water through their skin). HOWEVER, and this is where my information is wrong, so I'm correcting it - they CAN absorb a "little amount through the cells in the cloaca". (from a specialised reptile vet, and also a biology professor)

So, in a nutshell, I apologise for the incorrect information I gave, and for upsetting those concerned. Hopefully now I've rectified this to a suitable degree! :)

Best,
Carolyn"

Sorry Carolyn I was mistaken in what i said and my response to you regarding your qualifications came across much harsher than was intended, i was in a rush and did not word it correctly. It was not meant to offend i was just meaning to ask what you know in these matters, it was not to shoot you down. Will you forgive me :) (opens arms for hug)

Ohhh... alright! :) *hugs back*! All forgiven! :)

If you think about it, lizards living in dry areas or at dry times of the year would be highly vulnerable to dehydration when basking if their skins were permeable to water. The structure of the skin and scales, with a continuous layer of thickened keratin would preclude water absorption unless there were pores present. I certainly have never heard of any skin pores in agamids.

When re-reading this post I realised my error. Please add: “other than the preanal or femoral pores, which do not exude moisture.”
