if we could have a closer look at the head scales it would be easier to tell what it is. i cant seem to get past the blurr whether it has a loreal scale or not. if it does, its a colubrid. if not, most likely an elapid. hope this helps regards,

i'm leaning toward colubrid. What sort of habitate was it found in? Where was it found? I'm thinking slatey or keel, although I havn't had much to do with colubrid's so i'm only guessing from what i have taught myself.
 
most likely eastern brown hatchy,in your area which is around toowomba?isnt it?but need better photo for def id
they can be banded but are quite often one colour
 
Yeah it is a crappy picture and makes it hard.....i'd prolly be guessing Slaty Gray or Small eyed as well.
