I use a pice of black basalt rock on the edge of my basking light as a permanent fixture in my enclosure.

That's even better! I've got a rather large tile I'm putting in as a basking spot (trying to weigh up CHE vs heat cord atm for it) can I just put his rat on that and wipe it over when he's done?

I dangle the rat above the rock and my woma smashes it and wraps the rat so it never hardly touches the rock. I clean my enclosure once a month with f10 including the rock, other than that I only ever wipe the rock if blood somehow gets on it.
