l have just about had "perspective buyers" who PM me with a mobile phone number send me your details and l will come and handle your snakes to see if l want one...NO ONE handles my snakes until you have purchased it...my system is you are met at the front door and your hands are sprayed with f10, l have a system of cameras and sound recorders that would embarass any bank...you get to "view" the snake close up but "no touchies" now this is my system if you don't like it don't come, but its also "your" security that no one else has touched/handled that snake so no possible risk of infection....l am not one to meet you down at the SHELL or BP garage as l have nothing to hide but a lot of people just seem to think you are a public zoo and want all your personal details given to a mobile phone number that they don't have the good manners or courtesy to even suggest who the are....grrrrrrrrr solar 17 [Baden]

I can understand with expensive collections on where your coming from. I know I wouldnt want people touching All my Gtp's and pet project snakes.

It never easy to deal with such situation and such people. You don't want to offend a potential buyer but then again, you have to draw the line somewhere.

exactly a genuine buyer will do what it takes to get the right snake thats y they r a genuine buyer

My favourite is when they send you a PM with an offer that is less than 60% of the asking price... No name, no details... Just a number..

I dont know about anyone else, but I find it hard to take people seriously when they lack the basic skills to type out a couple of sentences. A name and a phone number would be great people!!!

Well, I totally understand your stand on this and I don't blame you. I would be very worried about who came to my house. The last thing you want is infection in your collection (sorry about the rhyme). I can also understand why people meet at a neutral location as how do you know who you are inviting into your house or their real intentions. I think your terms are reasonable.

I wouldn't change a thing about that procedure Baden and like everyone else has been saying, a 'genuine' buyer would not and should not have a problem with it either.
Also with the past few big robberies that have happened I'm surprised you even let people come to your house..!

I completely agree with what you said earlier... "if you don't like it, don't come" plain and simple.

We use a very simular system to you Baden, we dont give out directions untill people are withing minutes of getting here.
We have offended quite a few that want to "play" with the snake first, because it will never happen untill the snake is paid for and on its way out the door with its new owner. At no time does anyone get access to "view" any of our collection.

Let me see now , why would i want people i dont no or trust coming to my home lol ???

There are no problems with that way of doing business .
Its simple , if you want to buy from me .
I can ship to your local airport or meet you at a place thats public.
And i only allow people to handle the python when the sale is confirmed etc.
If anyone has a problem with that then they can buy elsewhere etc .
I for one do not visit other collections , lol
Have no interest in seeing others homes.
I just have a good quaranteen set up for new arrivals.

i just think that if ur worried about snakes being ripped off stolen etc wouldnt it be easier to do so at a service station? only my opinion i felt very comfortable when i went to badens and trusted him more as i was veiwing the snake in his home

I think it's a great proceedure the way you're doing it, if anything has made me rethink some of the sellers I have been to and how many others have handled my herps...I think if people don't respect the way you do it, than they're not worth your time or efforts - when you have beauties like you do you should be able to play the equivilant to 'simon sais' and get them to do the hokey pokey if they were 'serious buyers' lol

My main issue with selling snake is when i get a PM/email like this :
"Hey , keen on snake text/ring me on 0412214421511 "

Who are you ? which snake ? where are you ? I have a name ......
