They must have figured a few things out.. Last time I was there, just about every animal was housed uncorrectly..
How long ago were you there? Can't say I've noticed any problems.

ive noticed alot of petstores around me dont seem to know much about the snakes they are selling, one i went to even had all the scientific names of the snakes wrong, they had a stimmi called a stimpson python, i asked the lady about it and she said 'the p is silent, theyre called stimpson pythons because theyre found in the simpson desert'.. i looked at her in shock and told her that theyre "stimson pythons and theyre called that because they were named after a worker at the british museum (id done some research coz i was looking to buy one)' and she looked at me and goes 'i think i would know.. i breed them'. Needless to say i didnt buy one there lol
The pet store that sells reptiles that we usually go to up here is the Pet Superstore at Stafford, and I can happily say they keep their reps in great condition and enclosures that are good sizes, clean and very well set up! It's a pleasure to go and see their animals! (And no, I don't work for them or know the owners or anything-but I do think they deserve a good wrap!).
Sounds awful to hear some of the stuff you guys have seen!
Thats why not all petshops will be allowed to sell reptiles, There is talk that there should be a compulsory course for store staff before animals can be sold and i agree with that. Some time ago i went to a particular invite only meeting that included various representatives from DECC, a couple of herp society`s and some people who represented various sides of the pet industry. Something i found amusing was that when these training courses were mentioned it was a person who owns a "reptile specialty" store (products only) that stood up and said "I dont have to do any course, I have been keeping and breeding reptiles for three years now!" that was the dumbest thing i had heard any one say for a long time.im not religious, but i thank god that so far pet shops in NSW cant sell reptiles and i pray that this wont change. i know there would be good shops that would keep and care for reptiles that their selling, but i dont think a few good shops is worth the risk of all the possible bad shops
The ones at Pet city arnt really small but i hate it hows theres no branches... everytime i go in the bhp is trying to fit thru the gap in the glass and the other snakes never move position.. i think there fake..
