I don't use any thermostats. It's pretty simple really. I get or make an enclosure, any enclosure and don't put a thermostat on.
leighroy is 2-4hrs per day enough for adult carpets?
how many watts are the bulbs?
I just wanna setup a simple neat setup.
I didn't use a thermostat on my first plastic enclosure due to some advice I was given. The heat mat melted a hole in the bottom of the enclosure! I was lucky a) the snake wasn't injured, b) it didn't start a fire (aspen substrate), & c) the snake didn't escape. I have since deleted that advice from my memory banks & followed the manufacturer's instructions & had no probs since (now use Microclimate Ministat 100). Check pic.
the setup is going to be for a bredli python. ?
very lucky. I'm just askin cause I read somewhere on a thread cant remember which now, people saying they dont use thermostats because they can fail, so they setup deferently without and just wanna know whats a good way to do this, as I have a had a recent thermostat fail. They are good but thought if I can go without it would be better.
Bredli can handle very low temps. There home range gets as low as 10 degrees during the day and below freezing at night.
