Thats what I picked Jimmy and neither am I

Its purdy, i want it.
First carpet i actually stop to look at...

Are you all happy to keep on hanging? or would you prefer the answer re what it was sold to me as????

Go on tell us?...

If you planned on buying it for breeding
& your saying you won't breed if you can't determine what is actually is
then my question is....Why did you buy it?

I will say definately Darwin. The more i look at it the more darwin it is.
But it could of been sold to you as a gtp for all we know.

well what eva it is its very pretty. whats its behavour like? if you breed it i want one.

No different to my beautiful diamonds in temperament. Part of the reason apart from being pretty was the conditions that it was kept in. He had been kept in a fish tank with astro turf for flooring a heat rock the size of a grape fruit for heat and a plastic hide which he could possibly fit in if it didn't continually move around on him. He had been kept this way from a hatchie and was given to the guy from a mate who happen to accidently breed his pythons. this may explain him being a little awkward with climbing in his new enclosure.

Come on the suspense is killing us,tell us and put us out of our misery.

alright!! alright!!! I would still like peoples opinions after this post. Most of you are correct which Iam glad to see. He was sold to me as a pure Darwin from his mates pythons which are also apparantly pure Darwins. I have asked for pics of the parents to be sent to me and will post them if they arrive. Thanks to all for all of your opinions and itbites for starting off the thread.:D

well if it is a darwin what a cracker! Be carefully before you breed with it! Just cover the backgrounds before you do! otherwise what a great looking snake!

on left side of neck in second photo, looks like a couple of ticks.

Thanks chilli, Just checked him and they are scales mate.

You can tell its a very dark but pure Darwin . lf you look in the for sale threads Hardcorey from NT has some similar, but not quite as dark ,for sale .

Its a Carpet...Mt DNA evidence concludes that M. s variegata, M. s. "Cheynei, metacalfi and mcdowelli" are all the the same...no subspecific variation enough to split them at all.

So therefore....breed it with a Coastal, Darwin, Inland or North West...they are all the same anyway

Cheers,
Scott

Kinda looks like a Darwin.......Stunning snake either way.
How old is it?
