@ pythons rule, i think your snakes bite because they feel threatened..... just because they are not provoked does not mean they do not feel threatened. often just walking past an enclosure is provocation enough. i do think it is good for snake handlers to have the experience of a bite, but to keep a strikey snake is impractical, unless it's a hatchie, in which case it is only good for feeding time. snakes vary from animal to animal and often don't 'S' up before they bite, so i dont think body language is ALWAYS a good indicator.
