It's interesting to read some of the points being made here. I beleive that they are indeed the same species just different locales. Talking locality and size - While i was living in Townsville I once woke up to find the back half of a very sizeable Brown Tree Snake hanging out from under the Aircon unit. I walked around to the outside of the house and found the front half out. It has stuck and in some distress so I, dodging the occassional strike, removed part of the wall. I then removed over 6ft of very pretty banded brown tree snake and relocated it over the side fence into the figs...
