Its illegal to intentionally cross breed in most states and territories.Its not written into the nsw rules, and x breeds are given new species codes, but majority of NSWDECC were against it and hesitant to do this.Its only done to keep hybrids from being sold as pure. as much as we hate that lines are being muddied, its better they be sold as what they are.
 
It says that you cannot breed any mutations (I can't remember the direct quote), but people breed albinos, and nothing happens to them. Also, I recently looked at a EPA species list for 2007, and it specifically said a hybrid had been bred. They say you cannot breed two separate species of snakes together, but no one gets punished for it.
