Antaresia: An-TEAR-eez-EE-ə (TEAR, as in tear a piece of paper)
Commonly used as An-tə-REEZ-ee-ə, but because it named after the star Antares, it is pronounced the same.

maculosa: mac-yoo-LO-sə
Latin for 'spotted'

stimsoni: stim-sun-EE
Often pronounced stim-sun-EYE

childreni: chill-dren-EE
Again, often chil-dren-EYE

Although the common mispronounciations appear to be the norm (and I'm guilty of it too), it doesn't make it correct. It's like scientific slang.

What about tanami hixie - have heard a couple of different pronounciations?

Tanami is an aboriginal word. I have no idea of the correct pronounciation, but i've always said TAN-ə-my, and when I was in the Tanami, that's how everyone up there says it.
